Former MLL player and University of Dayton coach Zach Gagel will direct this Cincinnati lacrosse camp at Xavier. Campers will improve their individual stick skills, learn team concepts and scrimmage daily. Campers will stay in Xavier's dorms and play on their varsity fields. Overnight and extended day camper options are offered.
Zach Gagel started his coaching career at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan. After spending six years at OWU as the defensive coordinator, he moved to Chicago and became involved in coaching youth and high school players through \"Lacrosse America.\" Zach then made his way to Miami, FL and was the defensive coordinator at Gulliver Prep during the 2010 season. He then went on to coach Moeller High School in Cincinatti, before being brought on as an assistant at the University of Dayton. As of April 2014, the Flyers were number one in the MCLA Coach’s Poll.
Coach Gagel is no stranger to the playing field. He joined the best players in the world while playing 4 seasons in the MLL (Major League Lacrosse) and 2 seasons in the NLL (National Lacrosse League). While at OWU he led his team to the Final Four in 2 different seasons, was named All-American twice, and broke many scoring records. During his high school career, Coach Gagel garnered All-State and All-Midwest honors while winning a state championship in 1993.
